The Robotic Sculptor

An ongoing research project with Confluence Institute for Innovation and Creative Strategies in Architecture, The Robotic Sculptor is the second in a series of experiments which examine the challenges posed by combining tools and concepts from the world of craft and robotics. Translating manual actions into robotic procedures by developing rule-based systems, control schemes, and tools for material processing - this research explores existing notions of digital manufacturing in respect to their counterparts in traditional architectural craft.
